My friend who is a stylist tried to show me and same with other stylists but I just can't do it. My arms go all over the place. I cut my hair into a bob and I still have trouble. I want nicely done hair for work. Do some people just not have that ability?

I had the exact same problem until I found a Conair blowdryer with a brush attachment on it, it is fabulous and my hair looks like I just walked out of the salon when I use it. Try it I think you will be amazed.

It takes practice. Try sectioning off your hair with a clip so you only have small portions to work with. As you dry that part take another section out of the clip and keep moving around your head until it's dry. Hope that helps.

a brush is the worst thing too use while blow drying. ask ne stylist. try blow drying ur hair and flip ur hair over too whr ur bent over and take a pic through it. ban the the brush!!!

I have long hair and when I blow dry I brush my hair out first to get rid of the tangles, then I point the hairdyer down and from the top of my head (if that makes sense?) and put it on high and let it blast. It dries quickly and dries straight.
It does sound damaging I know. I just hate having wet hair and if it dries naturally it gets frizzy.

work on a small section of hair at a time. i always dry it with my fingers a bit, until it's damp and then use a brush. oh, and i always hold the brush with my dominant hand.

I have been a stylist for 16 years and if I could remove my head, place it in the chair in front of me and work from behind myself....I'd have the best hair I know!! ha ha...but seriously my point is that even though I AM a stylist it doesn't make styling my own hair any easier than the trials you are having with your own hair. However, I do recommend for my technologically challenged clients that they get themselves a hot air brush. It's sort of like a round brush and blow dryer in one. I would recommend that you get a large barreled one with a brush that simulates your round brush. I recommend one made by Hot Tools. Use your conventional blow dryer to remove about 80% of the moisture and then use the hot air brush. Take about 1-2" sections beginning in the nape of the neck and working towards the top of the head and around to the front of the face. You will actually use the hot air brush as if you're brushing your hair under. When you get to the crown pull each section up towards the ceiling and brush the ends under. continue until each section is dried.
