i have had a short graduated bob done, after having long scraggy hair for two years, my family including my husband , look at me as if i am from another planet , and say, it will grow. now i dont like it . and feel miserable

when i had long hair men didn't really notice as i looked like everyone else, but i went for the chop really short and i got more attention from men then, its all about confidence tell your family that your hairstyle is part of you and there comments hurt, they will get use to it,

You really should wear your hair how you want it though. Try not to be too miserable - the thing about hair is that it grows quite quickly :)

My hair has been above my shoulders for a long time, it never really grew because of the damage I caused it from curling, crimping and blow drying. I always wanted long hair so I decide to get hair extentions. I get so much attention now then I've ever gotten with short hair. But you really shouldn't be bothered by what your family says, you obviously needed a change and I'm sure you hair it's alot easier to work with.

Short hair can be sexy, I don't like really short i.e. crew cut short, but short styled hair is definitely sexy. Ignore them its what you feel comfortable with.

Teehee, the same thing happened to me. I had super long hair, always have had and I hated it. I looked at girls with gorgeous hair, straight as an arrow with no frizz bits and thought I had a chance of looking like that. It was not to be. Every hair dresser I've been to has told me how bad my hair is blah blah - (I HATE that, who are they to tell me off for not looking after my hair properly? Excuse me for having other more pressing things on my mind LOL.) and the last one just hacked it all off. I said I wanted it just by my shoulders, but it's level with my chin. I didn't realise it was so different until my boyfriend couldn't bring himself to say anything to me, my dad tilted his head and stared for a few seconds before deciding he thinks he likes it, and my friends didn't even recognise me!! Anyway, they've all come round to it now and tell me they really like it. They say it looks so much better, so much more mature and just healthier. I'm sure your hair wasn't in as bad condition as mine, but you say it was scraggy. Therefore, if nothing else, see this hair cut as a chance to start afresh and really look after your locks, so when they do get long, they're as gorgeous as when you have short hair. Your friends and famly will get used to it, I'm sure. It's just a shock to the system and they probably can't quite get used to it yet. They will though, once you've washed it a few times and had a bit of a play with some funky clips or something.

Men do prefer long hair, short hair is boring it's the same every day with long hair you can put it up so it looks short, I had my long hair cut about 5 inches off and I also hated it so now I am growing mine back too, don't ever get it cut again just trimmed, mines gonna take about 3 years to get it to the length it was roll on
