I spent months growing my hair long and it had gotten to be long about halfway down my back and looked really pretty except after too much dying the ends were dead. I'm home for spring break so I went to my trusted hair dresser that I've gone to for 18 years. Turns out instead of just taking the layers out she added more and took a HUGE chunk out on accident. The front looked cute so I left the salon after she charged me very little (should have known better). Anyways when I got home and looked at the back with a mirror and comments from my parents it looked AWFUL. She took a chunk out, tried to layer it but ehh! Anyways our family friend cut it all off (i had to) so like a posh bob but not since my hair is THICK, it's poofy at the ends, oompa loompa-ish. I feel terrible about myself, i look young and as mom says "cute" not mature. what should i do? extensions, expensive? hairdo by ken paves? embrace it or how to make it grow (vitamins, shampoos anyone?) help! thnz

oh so you pulled a brittney spears? lol jp. just buy a wig that looks like your old hair and then dont wear it after your hair gets to be a little bit longer

this hapened to me but i really truely couldnt find a thing to help.

dont waste your money on the expensive extensions over $ 100 +

go to sally beauty supply. They come in a red package called "the sassy collection", there are clips that you buy also.. next to it, (blonde, brown, black) and thread also (blonde, brown, black) you cannot return the extensions and you have to sew them but it doesnt take long at all!

total cost for all of this was $30 dollars and i make them all the time. theyre beautiful.

come in every hair color.

highlights, solid colored, etc.

dont panick girlie, it will grow back it i know its hard but just keep conditioning it and taking good care of it and use the extensions till it grows. :)

Well, vitamins will help it grow, but I would go to a DIFFERENT salon and have them thin it out. That will take some of the heavy bulk out. They should be able to help you slowly adjust it as it grows out.

ya buy some vitamin shampoo or product and try and make it grow. look for a website for some hairstyles to help. i just got my hair cut too, and the lady that cut it, cut it completrly uneven i mean one side an inch shorter and then in the back it was like 1 inch longer, 1 inch shorter and so on. it looks horrible and its too short 2 be put in a pony. so this is what im doing and it seems to help. its growing much faster. hope this helps!

OMG! The same exact thing happened to me. Posh bob with HORRIBLE layers and everything. Yesterday I went to a different salon and told they stylist there what had happened and I asked her to even it out and blend the layers in better. I still don't like it but I can atleast go out in public now. Its not that it looks bad now, it just isn't a hair cut I would have chosen for myself therefore I feel terrible about myself and all of my confidence is gone. I feel like a boy. I have been doing research and hair, on average, grows 1/2 and inch a month. I have heard prenatal vitamins make hair grow really fast. I just picked some up at wal-mart tonight. I have a question posted to see if they really work but I think they do. Also, since hair grows slower when it gets damaged (spilt ends, coloring, flat irons, etc.) you need to keep it as healthy as possible so it will grow as fast as it can. Try herbal essence Long Term Relationship shampoo and conditioner. That is what I am using and I noticed a difference after just one use. I know your pain, good luck and hang in there!

Oh, have you tried adding side swept bangs if you don't already have them? That made me look better. So now my hair looks like Katie Homes' new bob. its ok. Her hair is the top 16 sexiest hair dos according to cosmopolitan so I guess thats good!

If your bangs are long enough, you can try hairclips or bobby pins.

You can try to make the back flippy to make it look a little cuter.
